While decidedly contemporary, I believe my sound retains, at it’s heart, the warm, smooth character of the jazz guitar tradition.

My core unit is a classic trio, with guitar, bass, and drums.

I also now offer an acoustic jazz duo, with classical guitar and upright bass - very unique and classy.

(All my acoustic presentations are lightly amplified.)

You’ll hear a diverse range of jazz idioms; from straight-up swing to delicate ballads, from bouncing Latin grooves to harmonically adventurous improvisations - I have some truly great folks I work with!

This works really well for events where dancing isn’t part of the theme, and people would like to be able to converse, while still enjoying some fantastic, world class music. It offers a nice contrast, and compliment to the typical Caribbean style entertainment - perfect for providing a distinctly different theme when an in-house group has multiple events. Also; consider my highly regarded solo guitar work for a cocktail hour, and then moving to a full band for the rest of the event.

Ensembles

I’ve had the great fortune to have studied, recorded, and performed jazz with both American and Caribbean musicians over the years, and it’s definitely broadened and enriched my sense of where the music can take you.

I’ve also developed, after much time and trial, a very unique guitar technique, which fuses elements of both finger-style and plectrum playing, forming a cohesive whole. This enables me to shift seamlessly between fluid, horn-like lines, and pianistic chordal textures.
